Monday Gentle Yoga: Seated & Standing
Mondays, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Class starts *promptly* at 10:30. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early.
Drop-in; Suggested donation of $3-5.
Join us for a gentle, relaxed-pace yoga class on Monday mornings, and start your week off right! This class focuses on whole-body stretches, balance work, light body weight exercises, and ends with a short meditation practice centered around breathing. Class movements are a mixture of seated and standing using a chair for balance. Plenty of modifications are provided; this is a perfect class for those getting back into exercise or with injuries. Taught by Ellen Barnard, CYT.
Yoga For Osteoporosis: Next Session Starts the First Week of May

Yoga for Osteoporosis is a gently paced yoga class for anyone wanting to strengthen their bones. All abilities welcome for this slow, bone, strength and balance building practice. This class will follow the program developed by Loren Fishman MD, which has been proven to improved bone density for people with osteopenia, osteoporosis and those wishing to avoid those conditions. Modifications will be offered including doing poses in a chair and using different props. Emphasis will be on safety and careful engagement in each pose. Please bring a yoga mat if you have one, wear comfortable clothes and arrive early for your first class to fill out an information form and waiver. Taught by Ellen Barnard, CYT.

The Strong Women program was designed by researchers from Tufts University to offer older adults an exercise program that is easy to learn, strengthens muscles used every day, and can be modified for all abilities, skills, and health levels. This one-hour class consists of a regular sequence of exercises that work the muscles we use every day. The Strong Women program is perfect for those getting back into exercise, those who have never committed to an exercise program, and those who want to preserve or improve their health as they age. WERQ! Dance & Fitness: 6 Week Session for All Levels

The happiest workout you’ve ever had! Take an hour to de-stress, dance, sweat, tone and smile! All equipment is provided and all levels of fitness are welcome. You’ll learn some simple rhythms and dances, bang on some drums, and burn approximately 600 calories before the hour is over! This is perfect for anyone who wants to try something new, for friends looking to break out of their happy hour rut, and for anyone who wants to get fit while having fun!

Class is lead by Bob Yu, a long-time teacher and neighborhood resident who has taught Tai-Chi and Chinese Martial Arts for more than 20 years at the University of Wisconsin. Bob has taught hundreds of students over four decades. His passion and support bring an inspiring energy to each class.
This introductory class will cover the basic movements that comprise the Tai-Chi sequence, truly a standing and moving meditation. Registration is done in-person on the first day of class.
